Dolmabahçe Palace was built by the thirty-first Ottoman sultan, Sultan Abdülmecid.Dolmabahçe Palace, which was designed with a Western view due to the Ottoman desire for modernization, was opened on June 7, 1856. Construction of the palace began on June 13, 1843 and lasted 13 years.

This palace, which reflects the majesty of the Ottoman in every room, also damaged the Ottoman economy due to its huge cost. While the Ottoman Empire collapsed, the Sultan Vahdettin also sailed from this palace and went to England.

Dolmabahçe Palace basically consists of three parts
- Haremlik (Harem-i Hümayun): It is called the section where the Sultan lived with his family and female servants. This place consists of rooms and can be reached by passing a long corridor.
- Selamlık (Mabeyn-i Hümayun): Selamlık was used as the administrative center in the palace is given this name. The greetings, where events such as meetings and receptions are held, naturally reflects the most magnificent aspect of the palace.
- Ceremony Hall (In Examination): The ceremony hall, which is illuminated with 750 lights and which enchants the visitors with its chandelier weighing 4.5 tons in total; It is called the place where events such as ceremonies and balls are held.

- The name of Dolmabahçe Palace comes from the filling of the sea. Before the palace was built, there were many bays in Beşiktaş where ships anchored. Turning into swamps as the date shows around the 17th century, these bays were filled and redesigned as gardens. This garden, where the sultans came to rest, was named as Dolmabahçe. The name of the palace comes from here
- Atatürk passed away on 10 November 1938 at the Dolmabahçe Palace.
